Separate out what you love and what you’re keeping out of guilt. Maybe it’s a gift someone gave you and you hate it. Give it to someone else. Remember inanimate objects have their own way of using up your psychic energy and physical space. The more your stuff is crowded together, the less it can breathe and the less you can breathe and the less you get to appreciate and differentiate the things you love from the rest of the clutter.

Here are several items including the books that I am not ready to part with. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and the polkadot fierce tiger fighter inspire perseverance so I keep them both. I looked over my entire 390 square foot, intensely packed condo for a picture of something I might be keeping out of guilt, and I couldn’t find anything. Maybe I’m just too attached to too many things. But I have re-gifted many, many things. Also, when the budget is tight and I want to give a gift, I will often give one of my precious objects as a way to share my love and divest myself of something I really don’t need.
