Clutter-busting strategy #7: Display each collection as a collection in one place

Keeping your collections in one place creates the impression that it is one item rather than many individual objects of random clutter strewn everywhere around your apartment.

Display each collection as one unit. If you’ve got a clutter problem, you’ve probably got a collector’s mindset as well. Let’s say you collect ceramic roosters. Don’t have thirty of them perched all over your house. Better yet collect them all together and present them in one spot as one collection. The eye takes in all 30 roosters as one object instead of thirty random pieces. You can do that with photos and any number of collectibles. A tiny decorative cloth on a table top served as the stage for a client’s collection of tiny carved dogs.
