You never know what has caused someone to be overweight. For one thing 50% of whether you are overweight or not is in the genetics given to you at birth. In other words — it’s a crap shoot even on that level. Then you add in your luck (or bad luck) when it comes to health issues that force you to have trouble losing weight. Sometimes, it’s a struggle just keeping more weight off — little on losing what you’ve got on you. And yeah, people don’t mind being unkind. Believe me… those comments only lead to a deeper depression, not motivation. And they don’t seem to get that. I know your pain, and I’m not even as overweight as others I’ve met. I weigh in at 280lbs, but with the way my body is shaped, this past year I have had to ask for extenders on regional flights. I began buying upgrades in seats to give more room. WE ARE ALWAYS SELF-CONSCIOUS AND OVERLY CONSCIOUS OF OTHER PEOPLES’ COMFORT OVER OUR OWN.
