walk it back is a global campaign initiated by founder Craig Cohon, currently walking 4,000 km across Europe to raise awareness on carbon removal solutions.
It all started with one realisation - there is no way of keeping within 1.5 degrees of global warming without eliminating carbon already in our atmosphere. We're not the ones saying it - the latest IPCC report, environmental experts and scientists are the ones calling for action.
Nature-based solutions alone are unlikely to be enough to solve the problem. Carbon removing tech solutions need to be radically scaled at the same time.
So why isn’t everyone talking about carbon removal?
The walk it back campaign is on a journey to find out. Our fact-finding mission runs in tandem to our founder Craig Cohon’s yomp of a lifetime. Departing London on 3 January 2023, Cohon is walking all from London to Istanbul in order to mark his personal commitment to wipe clean his entire lifetime’s emissions using pioneering carbon removal techniques. Follow his journey here.
As he traverses Europe, Cohon and members of our our team will be sitting down with mayors and decision makers from 82 cities and towns, asking them how they are planning to eliminate their historic carbon emissions.
As Craig moves from Europe towards Asia, this blog will let you see behind the scenes – and share in an epic and utterly historic journey of discovery.
We’ll share
- updates on all the meaty conversations we’re having in different cities and towns
- pilots, examples, best practice, pitfalls, data and leadership
- insights and guest posts from practitioners and experts on the ground So, welcome to a big, global, possibly messy, dialogue on carbon removal.
Let’s walk and talk…
