Answer: 5 years

Phase I:

6–12 months to formulate a viable idea

12 months to execute the idea and develop a client offering

You meet a new connection while out networking

Phase II:

6–12 months later that new connection offers up your first opportunity

6–12 months of waiting for a second project from your newly minted relationship

6–12 months of waiting for third project from that same connection

Now your industry connection has seen your work 3 times and your growth over the past years

You are now top of mind and have a real relationship in your industry

Congrats!!!

Crazy how we want all these opportunities right now

When in all reality it takes years to prove ourselves to players in our own market

How long does it take you to build a relationship in a new industry?
