Rumtek Monastery History:-
Rumtek Monastery build in the year 1740 by 9th Karmapa, Which used to be the main place of Karma Kagyu dynasty before it was destroyed. After this, 16th Karmapa came here in 1961 then Rumtek Monastery was Rebuild according to his orders. In 1966, this Monastery was completely Build and since then it is one of the main places of Buddhists.
Architecture of Rumtek Monastery:-
The Rumtek Monastery is a 3-storeyed Building which Have various Type of beautiful images. There is a very big room in the hotel where the teachers used to pray. This room has colossal hand Painting ;intricate sculptures and third class pottery. On the top there is a small Roof. The main building has a temple which is decorated with the customs of religious texts. The structure of Rumtek Monastery is made according to the design of the monasteries of Tibet. There is a very large courtyard in front of the building in which the guards live. There are many idols in the monastery which is considered the guardian of the whole universe. Outside the Rumtek Monastery, you can spot a staircase which will take you the Nalanda Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies.
