Learning from You

I want that everytime I opened my eyes in the morning, I’d be in reality, seated at my desk in Your classroom, eyes wide with wonder and ready to learn. I don’t want to be a professor, I will most likely forget my Teacher. I want You to teach me. I want you to show me the ropes, so that maybe one day I’d build a bridge with your craftsmanship written all over it. I want to be a mature baby, learning and yet ready to learn again to depend on You alone. Give me projects while I dream. Give me tests while you watch. Show me how to chase the stars. Show me how to fly when You’re the wind.

Don’t ever let me go. When I’m punished, don’t let my silent complaints linger in Your ears. Teach me to shut up and listen to you working in the background instead. When I can’t sleep, speak to me. When I’m distracted, change my seat. Help me always remember who’s in charge of the classroom. It’s your ball game.
