Pixels of the Week — February 9, 2025 UX team dynamics, “at least they tried” is not good enough, and fun emoji patterns in Figma

It’s time for another round of the Pixels of the Week, your curated weekly UX, design and tech resources!

My top 3 picks of the week

  • UX Team Charter: a free charter created by NN/Group, to clarify a team’s purpose, roles, and goals. This should help improve collaboration, especially in low UX maturity places
  • The Interface Is Always There (3min) yup, fully agree with this “The next time someone talks about creating a UI-less experience, ask them: Through which of the five senses do they expect users to perceive their product? Whatever the answer, that’s their interface.“ by Christopher Butler
  • I built an Omni-Directional Ball-Wheeled Bike (video) haha James Bruton made it again. I love it when people do fun things like that. It’s hard to go in a straight line, but, it looks fun.

I’m happy to announce, that, I’ve partnered again with Smashing conference, and we are bringing my accessibility for designers workshop back. We will have 4 sessions, remotely, on Mondays and Tuesdays between June 16 and 24. This workshop is a mix of theory to help you understand what designers need to know about accessibility, and a lot of practical exercises, from fixing contrast issues in mockups, to documenting different aspects of accessibility. The super early bird prince is $255 with the link below.
