I don’t like the individual tests. The fact that we have a time limit put so much pressure on me, so I cannot perform as well as I prepared. I got nervous and cannot focus on the problem when it comes closer to the end of the test since I’m getting worried I’m running out of time.
I like the workflow of the projects. …
This past week, we talked about the initializer list on Monday, had test 1b on Wednesday, and talked about the Darwin project on Friday. Beyond that, I worked from home for my part-time intern where we started an exciting new project. I also finished homework for other classes and worked on group projects for Data Mining and Programming for P&C with my team.
2. What’s in your way?
I need to work on the part assigned to me for the Data Mining project, wrap up the project for Programming for P&C with my…
Yes, my family is safe. I’m living at my friend’s house for the rest of the semester in Austin since my roommate already move out of the apartment after school shut down, and I don’t want to live alone at this uncertain period.
2. How do you feel about your ability to finish the term completely online?
I think it will be fine. I already started working on some of my projects online through Zoom with my group, and it has been ok. I guess that’s how the rest…
In OOP we talked about allocator project on Monday. Finish test 1a on Wednesday, and test 1b got canceled today. Aside from that, I had a project due and two other tests for data mining and mathematical stats, went to work on Thursday, discuss the end of semester data mining project with my team. I also have two interviews this week, but I missed one of them since I did not pay attention to the interview time is in PT(pacific time) not CT(central time). It was nice the recruiter was willing to move…
1.What did you do this past week?
In OOP we talked about Range Iterators and Iterations inside various data structures. There are many details to pay attention to due to the syntax and rules of C++. There are tons of things going on in my other class too. As we approach the middle of the semester, I feel my motivation just drops and I started to procrastinate everything just to make myself feel better temporarily and regret it later on. …
In this class, we went over some C++ data structures and iterators. I had a midterm on Tuesday for CS 378, and it went pretty well. I went to data mining office hour for clarifications on project, so I will know I’m working in the right direction. I spend most of time this week wrapping voting project with my partner. Since we passed all the Hackerrank tests last week, we did not do any more work until Wednesday, but who knew the rest of workflow can be time-consuming when we had several bugs…
I wrapped up my data mining assignment on Monday. I felt good about it since it was a pair assignment but I completed alone. I also went to my first tennis class on Monday. The coaches are good, and everyone is nice. For the voting project, I passed all three Hackerrank test on Thursday night after fixing a small bug with EOF and an edge case for checking ties. It was such a relief after working on it non-stop for the entire Tuesday and Wednesday night. For my mathematical stats class, there was…
living away from social media and anything could drag me down
In OOP, we talked about array and voting project this week. The voting system we have to implement on project overlaps with the content of another class I took at UT. It was ECO330T, where we went over the pros and cons of majority types of voting systems in the world and how they are specifically implemented. It was wonderful to see how two different fields(economies and computer science) got overlap sometimes.
I went to career night(Wednesday) and career fair(Thursday). Aside from that, I wrapped up Collatz on Monday, went to office hours…
This past week has been busy. All of my classes have assignments and projects going on and I had to allocate my time wisely for each of them; I went to a couple of networking events and career fair prep; I went to work as usual on Tuesday and Thursday. It is always true that the first two weeks of school are chill, and when it comes to the third week, everything starts to speed up and things begin to fall apart, and my sleeping schedule is messed up again:(
