Really can’t disagree with the message here. I think it’s very much on point. It’d be a lot easier to ‘do unto others’ if certain others would stop doing unto everyone.

My question is one of practical application: How do you know, when you see a given person in some kind of trouble, whether they’re a bigot or not?

In some cases it’s obvious: A swastika tattoo is a dead give-away. In some cases, it may be someone you personally know who’s been a terror in the neighborhood for years, so you can cheer lustily while they go under for the third time. In some cases they may be famous demagogue with a long history of atrocious declarations that everyone’s heard. But not in all cases. Not all bigots carry ID cards. Not all bigots walk around in white hoods all day long. And not all people who wear a cross are bigots.

So how do you decide?
