I’m sure we’ve all seen this photo at one point in time, and the focus has always been on the 2 black athletes. The assumption usually is that the silver medalist is just a bystander to the event.
But if you look closely, he’s also wearing the “Olympic Project for Human Rights” badge. He’s no bystander and his actions, despite not being recognized as much as the other two, are indeed aligned fully in spirit.
Something to remember as the Olympics go on.
