Style and fashion has been about women, but with the evolution of the internet we have found out that guys also want to be fashionable and dapper.

Men want to wear nice clothes and think about what to style with their outfits. Styling for guys isn’t that easy. The key is to find something that fits good but also looks good. And we know it’s hard, therefore we want to make a part of the process easier for you.

We have developed a free specialized tool to help you style your outfits. It’s our app and you can download it right here.

Here’s our 10 reasons that men’s fashion industry has experienced more growth than the women’s for the last couple of years.

  1. Some men have pushed the boundaries and led the (r)evolution

Back in the days there wasn’t any men who had the guts to go out and care about their looks in the public space. Then came David Beckham. One of the first footballers who was a fashion icon and recognized not only in the sport’s world but also in the fashion industry. His highly fashionable wife, Victoria Beckham from Spice Girls, has definitely been an influence on him.

2. It’s not a taboo anymore for men to carry about their looks

Since modern society is beginning to being more open regarding different people’s views on their own life and how we should be able to live our life in our own way, it is also being more socially accepted for men to carry about their looks. Back in the days it was always rumoured that it was always homosexual men who carried about how their hair looked, but now it’s almost socially unaccepted as a man to show up with his hair looking messy.

3. Women are more equal to men than ever before

The focus on gender equality is being more focused on with prominent names like Emma Watson fighting for it. That leads to women gaining some more self-control regarding the way they want to live their life and that they can pick any man they want. Since most women can pick any man, the men must start impressing the woman they want to get — and the other way around too. For that reason, men are starting to think about their looks more and more.

4. More men are being more comfortable about themselves

As noticed before, it’s no longer a taboo for men to carry about themselves. That means that more and more are getting comfortable about themselves and how they look and feel. Some men like to dress up and some don’t. But somehow they all conform to the social group they feel they belong to.

5. It’s almost a negative thing if you don’t care about yourself

Being socially accepted and loved by the ones who are close to you is very important for almost everybody. If you stop caring about yourself and your looks, people will get the impression that you’re sloppy in every aspect of your life and who wants to be with a sloppy person that doesn’t seem to have any control of his life? Nobody.

6. Younger men are being influenced by the older

As always the younger men and boys always look up to the older. So when someone looked up to shares his view on something or his style, the younger people adapt the same ideas and mind sets of that man. This leads to more and more younger men thinking about how they look and their style.

7. It’s not a taboo anymore for men to talk about feelings

Just like with style and the taboo around it there once was, there’s no longer a problem surrounding the fact that men also has feelings and that they want to express them. Expressing feelings and thoughts could be done in many ways, and style is definitely one of them.

8. Insecurity regarding your own person and sex is being more explored

Since fashion is more accepted among men in the society, more men dare to say that they care about fashion and their looks. This also means that some dare to think out of the box and be a trendsetter in the fashion space. It could be persons like David Beckham, but it could definitely also be you, the person that is reading this. Actually I definitely think that you who is reading this, has gained the power over your insecurities or else you are going to!

9. Men want to be socially accepted

Men, like women, want to be socially accepted because they want to be and feel loved. That is just the way the human brain works. Being socially accepted requires doing or acting what society does and wants. It means that, even though we all like to think that we are unique, some things like clothing trends and technology trends (anyone said Pokémon Go?) most of the society likes to follow the same for the sole reason that we think everyone else is doing it, and then everybody automatically does it.

10. Instagram is being more used by men

Taking pictures of yourself like selfies was one more for girls and women. So sharing pictures was also more for girls since girls like to take pictures of a lot of things (read: everything). Then like a lot of other things, some guys started to get on Instagram too. Then the influencers and the male models got on Instagram and then a lot of guys wanted to get on there too to follow their idols.
