A Look Ahead: Top Interior Design Trends in 2016

With 2015 come and gone, we are buzzing with excitement for all that 2016 holds for us. After undergoing a major rebrand and extending our product line with new barstools, benches, and dining sets, what better way to celebrate change than to look forward to what this year has in store for the design industry! Here’s our prediction in style for 2016:

1. Eco-Friendly Design
As concern for environment continues to rise, so will the demand for Eco-Friendly Design. Natural light, live greenery, and impact-reducing furniture are fundamental for the health-conscious lifestyle. This year, more and more people will invest in low or no VOC paint, organic upholstery, solid wood furniture, and rugs made from natural fibers, as they come to realize that a happy home is a healthy one.

2. Metal Materials
According to New York designer, Julia Haney-Montanez, “Welders are the new rock stars.” Straight, simple, yet decidedly interesting, this year’s metal furnishings are an updated take on an age old tradition. Endless possibilities and versatility go hand-in-hand with metal furniture, and are sure to last for years to come due to their durable and well-wearing nature.

3. Natural Tones
This year, especially with the increasing interest in the environment, natural tones will be a popular trend. Earthy, neutral tones are a timeless design staple, as bringing the outside in is a concept that never gets old. These natural color schemes vary between warm and cool and are the perfect backdrop for bright and expressive accent colors and decor.

We’re ready for the new year with a new look that offers all that our design predictions hope to fulfill. Our products are greener than ever, made with our signature iron metal and zero-emission finish bays, and are filled with natural tones. We are so excited for all the new people and clients that will find their way to Wesley Allen this year. 2016 will be a fabulous year!
