I agree so much with this.

I am trying to implement exactly this into an application, but the need for another server just to listen to database changes and then notify the FCM servers that there is a change seems so unnecessary. FCM already knows there is a change! It is a detour.

If anyone finds a tutorial on how to deploy such a server (which sends out notifications to FCM upon a change in the database), that would be very helpful. The ones I found are all outdated or serve a different purpose.
