Back in old times, when pterodactyls still sailed across earthen skies, I spent my non-working time backpacking around Europe. Back then individual countries still had borders (‘frontiers’) which were jealously protected by steely eyed guards. Few American travelers that dared to embrace, even partially, the bohemian life style were foolish enough to proclaim their nationality as that of an American, preferring instead, to display another countries flag upon their totes.

Seldom is it the leader of a country that is the cause of embarrassment but rather the policies of said country; policies that leaders, worldwide, invariably inherit from those that were there before them.
