This article pushes other browsers with the business monopoly in mind — definitely a good point. But in this age of tracking and ad campaigning which exploit the power of browsers on Desktop and countless ways on smartphones, one should give much higher priority on #privacy and #security.
In this regard, Desktop Chrome browsers should be plugged in with uBlock origin (blocks *ads* as you expect) and Privacy Badger from EFF (blocks *trackers* with excellency).
For smartphones, two relatively new browser initiatives are working hard enough, namely Brave (based on Chromium) and Cliqz (based on Mozilla Firefox). Imho Cliqz may have more features to impress the privacy-concerned humans.
