Honesty is the slow, sustainable road to success. As with everything else that has an underlying true principle holding it up, honesty is similar to climbing and dishonesty (in any form) is like sledding downhill.

Climbing takes more effort and slowly leads you up, where sledding is more of a quick ride but in the long run only takes you down. In short, choosing to be disingenuous has its short term rewards, but candidness is the long term reward.
