Childhood Mentalities

Imagine if we had the careless care-free mentalities we had as children, oh what a different world it would be. I miss the days of playing in the mud with Jenga blocks and running hose water through makeshift canals. I miss playing with kids with no prejudices and no discrimination. Knowledge is power, and ignorance is bliss but too much or too little and we have our current global situation. When did we turn away from our childish ways? Was it the time when we were taught to be responsible and to have morals? Was it when we hit puberty and starting noticing changes in our bodies and thoughts? Whenever it was we need to return to a way of childish thinking.

As children we had the curiosity of a cat and openness of a double door. We were sponges, learning, accepting and absorbing everything around us. Unfortunately, some people absorbed dirty water, rotten food and other contaminants that have influenced who they are today. At one point we were all children, and color, race, religion, political stance, etc were all foreign to us. All we had were our toys, games, hands, feet, and adventurous hearts that gave us endless hours of joy together. Though biologically impossible, we cannot go back to our childhoods, but we can adopt the carefree and open minded philosophy. We are never too old to change our perspectives, we are never too old to open our hearts and accept all people. We are all one race, one brand of human body with a heart and a brain. We all matter and coexist for a better tomorrow. We need to live like it today.
