2014 has been a big year for Revealed Recordings’ Dannic. Between touring the festival circuit worldwide, his first placement on the DJ Mag top 100, a sold out bus tour with Hardwell and Dyro, seminal performances at ADE & MMW, and putting out huge hit records he has not let up.

What a lot of people don’t know is that Dannic’s first mainstage experience was through a DJ competition back at the 2009 Dancetour festival. With that experience having helped launch his own career it was only natural for Dannic to turn around and give aspiring artists a similiar to chance to break out.

Wavo worked with Dannic’s team to use our crowdsourced music platform to design a massive remix competition for his hit ‘Dear Life Ft. Bright Eyes’ with enough upside to really launch an artist’s career: A release on Revealed Recordings (the imprint of Hardwell, DJ Mags #1 Dj in the world), premiered worldwide on Hardwell on Air to over 6 million listeners, and supported by Revealed’s impressive roster.

With the huge commitment by the label over 1200 artists submitted high quality remixes.

The remixers then used wavo’s viral tools like our built in share, tweet, and tag friends modal, Facebook open graph app integration, and charting to promote their music.

The contest reached a global audience and over a quarter of a million Electronic Music Fans came to the chart to interact and listen to the remixes.

Revealed also used Wavo’s Facebook fan incentive tools to ask these fans and artists to like their page before participating, helping them grow their fanbase by over 35,000 new fans in their target demographic.

By using Wavo’s simple social and voting mechanisms Revealed was able to leverage the audience as a powerful A&R tool helping them to easily sort through the 1200 remixes to narrow it down to top trending artists that their own A&R team could listen to… as well as Dannic while on the road touring.

In the end Revealed and Dannic chose the Blasterz remix as the best of the bunch.

His remix was driving, powerful and premiered worldwide on Hardwell On Air on Sirius XM… he’s also getting officially released via Revealed Recordings!

Our runners up included Riot, Classy Vibe, Mastiff & Midical, and Zaeden.

We also featured the full top 10 on our blog here and the top 20 artists were added to Wavo’s certified artist program where they will receive exclusives, deals and other opportunities.

All in all the Dannic Bight Lights remix competition was a great example of what happens when labels, artists, fans and technology come together to create a new form of music collaboration and distribution.
