Hong Kong // 2
Day 2 was devoted to design. In the morning, we visited the Hong Kong Toy and Games Fair. This is a massive fair held annually at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where manufacturers, inventors, and retailers get together to find products, form relationships, and see the latest in the field of toy design.
After lunch, we went trend shopping in the many malls and shopping centers of the Causeway Bay area. This provided many insights into the trends of electronics design, clothes and fashion, and was just great fun for all of the members of our group.
The scale of these malls is truly incredible, there were no fewer than 9 or 10 high-rise malls, with hundreds of stalls and stores offering any kind of fashionable good imaginable. We found electronics, clothes, home goods, bed and bath, kitchen goods, and even toys and strollers.
The city is truly beautiful at night, when the lights begin to overpower the dimly lit horizon. We made our way back to the hotel to work on our projects and get some rest for day 3.
