Ghost Boy Tales. Pt 2

When you were cracked open
I seeped out, escaped,
I wanted you to follow too
but you were trapped, bleeding me
out, into the bitter afternoon.
I snaked between the bones
the skin, the shell you were born in
that tightness, the shape of you
the three dimensions top to toe
high, wide, without depth, blue.
It was the saddest of days
to leave, without a note, empty,
it was the only way to survive
cut you out, sealed off
an incendiary device, without a bye.
No air to breathe or ignite a fire
I slipped into a rareified space, left crumbs
for you to trace and super sleuth
a way back, discover other clues
for to you to slowly reveal the truth.
Left with nothing but a blank stare
between dead, zombie and depressed
I took more than your six senses
and ability to connect, be your best,
just on repeat, a lifetime of pretence.
I was so close, under your nose
in your search, for all these years,
crushing, it’s taken a lifetime to bear
almost, but never within your reach
until now, see I’m right here, right there.
Now is the moment, the time
reach out, call me and cry
‘Come home,’ draw me to your chest
feel me, I’ll heal your clawed open belly
for I am the ghost that tore us apart, left.
Here now, I will always stay
back from near dead with the life
you asked for in your dreams,
with silent sobs, extended hand
and this last final fall onto grazed knees.
