Pillow lover

so close,

a witness

to this huge wasteland

of bed space

and time.

You

hear my confession,

bear witness

to the whispers

inside,

rain pouring outside.

Pillow lover

your downy softness beckons

even in the light,

come to me,

give it all up,

hold me a while.

I pull you in tight

hide froem life’s trials

loyal by my side,

you dry my drool,

my tears,

protect my soft spot

as I hardly sleep,

comfrot me through

each lonely year.
