Mark Lanegan • Gargoyle
Sion Smith

My sole remaining memory of seeing Lanegan live that one time in Belfast (with whoever he was touring with) was how little he interacted with the crowd. And when I say ‘little’, I mean to Lanegan it was like there was no crowd there. He didn’t say a word to anyone, he just sang his songs and fucked off home.

I remember really like the albums he did with Isobel Campbell. Really top stuff and definitely an outlet for his quieter and (dare I say it) kinder moments.

And all I remember about Screaming Trees was that I liked one song and there was too big hairy biker dudes in the band.
