Often times as pet owners, there are many things one encounters from the moment you invite your pet into your life you wish you knew beforehand. This could be anything from feeding your animal, potty training it, giving it commands, what to feed it, or any other number of random things that cross an animal owners mind. Usually veterinarians are a good resource as well as the community but having some assistance on finding the right resources as well as the right people will help expedite and ease achieving everything mentioned before. I’ve found five great companies and resources to help manage many of the different factors that go into owning an animal below and will make it that much more enjoyable and exciting in the short and long-term.
PetCareRx
PetCareRx is a retail distributor that offers various different services and products to your pet. They carry: treats and toys, vitamins, flea, tick, and heartworm protection, as well as prescription and non-prescription medications. Additionally they offer “Wellness Advice”. Through this column, there are medication guides which include what the indication for the medicine your pet is receiving, some precautions, dosages, and side effects. There are breed guides which outline certain characteristics your pet may hold including: personality, color, and any health concerns. Lastly they have great product guides which talk in depth about their products they offer. This company is a great resource for anyone looking to just learn more about their pet.
Petsense
Petsense is another retail distributor similar to PetCareRx that caters just cats and dogs. Their area of focus is primarily on keeping the burden of any supplies a pet may need minimal all while making it easy and affordable through their company partnerships. They have many physical locations located all around the United States. They offer treats, toys, grooming and shampoo, bowls, litter, and many other products. The unique feature that Petsense offers is in person training for your dog to teach many of the core principles they should learn. This includes: food and treats, toys and chews, dental care, shampoos and brushes, potty training, and crate training. These classes can be group based or private and gives pet owners an opportunity to interact with other pet owners in the community.
PetSho Shop
PetSho is a unique business that focuses on finding the best ways to care for one’s pet without all the burden of doing everything by yourself. This has led them to pursue many automated systems such as automatic litter boxes, water fountains, automatic feeders, and pet cameras. Additionally they have a current blog they update often which addresses many interesting questions pet owners may have. Some titles to name are: “Can I give my dog human CBD oil?”, “How to get a cat out of a tree”, “Learning how to discipline a cat”, and many more. This blog is informative and easy to implement into one’s overall experience with their pet.
PetLand
PetLand was founded in 1967 in Chillicothe, Ohio. They have been around a very long time and pride themselves in their mission to provide personalized services to new and seasoned pet owners. PetLand trains and educates their own Pet Counselors to guide potential pet owners and even help them afterward on making decisions on how one may want to raise their pet. They offer their services through: informational handouts, training videos, hands-on demonstrations and conversations, as well as connecting pet owners to pet behavior specialists locally and nationally. They are a well established business that will give you great insight in to your pet’s needs.
PupTox
PupTox is a very handy application for your iPhone, Android phone, or iPad. This app is an on-the-go app to identify potentially dangerous substances to your dog or cat. They cover over 250 substances or chemicals that could be potentially harmful and even offer a built-in Chocolate Toxicity calculator, as well as references to reach the Pet Poison Helpline or ASPCA. This is a great application to have in case you are ever unsure your pet may be in danger.
Overall, these are just a few of many different resources available to pet owners. I hope I have given some great insight and offered as much information as I can regarding these services and hope to make your pet owning experience that much easier. Thank you for reading.
