Hey Alex, that Hartman et al. article is a fascinating read. Thanks for sharing.
I did some digging into cognitive abilities & keto when writing my 43+ health benefits of keto article, and I found these two studies especially interesting:
Thanks Matt, you’ve hit on topics I’ve been extremely curious about: i.e. what specific levels of blood glucose trigger these hormone shifts, how can we best measure this personally, how does it relate to time-of-day, fasting, and overall insulin insensitivity, and what the heck is insulin insensitivity, anyway (biochemically speaking)?

Mechanistically, as our bodies get more leptin-sensitive during and after induction, the concentration of sugars in our mouths required to cause a “sweetness” signal decreases (leptin is involved…
Hey Rey, while the “calorie in vs. calorie out” thing is true at the cellular level, it’s hormones that rule the macro picture. I’d probably phrase that a bit differently if I wrote it today.

Spot on. “You get what you pay for” is exactly right. If there were some way for the industry to rally behind agreed-upon titles & scopes for the roles, it would be easier to set realistic salary expectations & recruit, and easier for people skilled at one or more of these roles to market themselves effectively.
I think the market is heading that direction, it’s just taking awhile. :)
