Excellent effort. As i read the comments i could not help but reflect on the underlying assuredness of those living in the now. Now is everything, now is great, now is forever. So few consider history. So many fail to learn that *everything* changes. Entire countries default. Google is in no way immune. If memory serves, Denmark defaulted in the 1700’s, the first country to do so in “modern” times. Nobody thought it possible. For those who look at macro trends without bias, they see the USA is itself faltering. To think Google can’t or won’t is as blind as those of us who no longer see ads, but abhor the invasion of privacy they hint at.
THAT is what is missing in this discussion: the invasion of privacy. THAT is why the industry won’t survive.
