Under The Rainbow Sky

Last Wednesday evening.

Double rainbows in the sky.
Author’s own — double rainbows in the sky last Wednesday evening.

Raindrops,
ferocious in the beginning
now a light drizzle
onto the ground.

Like a faucet,
faulty and loose,
droplets leaking,
from the sky.

In mere moments,
gray clouds scattered
revealing hues of blue
once more.

The world,
done with its day
now well on its way
for its deserved rest.

There, hanging high up
hovering over the world,
an array of colours,
splayed across the sky.

The arch of promise —
an answer to unspoken prayers.
Perhaps also a reward —
the pot of gold on the other end.

Hearts that beat gratefully,
and muttering praises —
The beauty and wonder
of the pastel arch.

There before my very eyes,
I offer my thanks,
together with the world,
I know —

Prayers answered.
