Schools are the first step that human beings take in their lives outside of their families. It helps the students to learn life lessons apart from the designated syllabus for the term. Learning along with friends and being able to socialize with others helps them in many ways.
Friendships in schools have proven to have a positive impact on the academic performances of the students and help to discourage negative and deviant behaviors. Children can partner up for studies and help each other with study material and can motivate each other in their studies. The personal connection with friends allows individuals to show their weaknesses and help them to work on them.
Being able to enjoy with friends enables students to spend more time in school instead of leaving early. According to an analysis conducted by students of Ohio University who observed the influence of friends on the academic results in the past 35 years found out that the school friends can help to increase motivation among students at schools and can help them academically.
School can be stressful for the students and the competitive nature of society can overburden them with the need to be successful to prove their worth. A friendship helps an individual by reducing stress. According to the study of 2019 named ‘Growing up in Australia’ observed that children with at least one friend helped them to learn and get better results in academics as compared to the students who did not have friends.
Making and maintaining friendships is not an easy task for every student. Some can socialize effortlessly while many are not able to talk to others. As parents, teachers, and guardians, it becomes important to make sure that they are not left behind and are able to make themselves comfortable around others.
