So if you’re a Derek Zoolander aficionado who’d prefer not to tarnish your opinion of the first film’s dumb comedy glory
Zoolander 2 — Review

This. The first one took me completely by surprise, went to the cinema on the off chance and it was the first thing that was coming on. I hadn’t really wanted to see it, and was not a fan of Ben Stiller, but it charmed me with it’s relentless silliness and it remains (like Anchorman, or the Naked Gun) one of those comedies I can recall word for word yet will still sit through to the end if it comes on TV.

I don’t want to have the same bitter taste that Dumb and Dumber 2, Anchorman 2, Hangover 2 left me with- the feeling that the filmmakers are lazily retreading past glories in the hope that fondness and nostalgia will see you through til the end- the problem being that fans of the film will have watched them recently so it’s not nostalgia, just laziness
