Below we detail the Voting Process behind the GAM3RS’ CHOICE AWARDS.

With many web3 games entering the forefront of the global web3 revolution, we are excited to present to the world our picks for the best of the best in the space.
It’s a big responsibility to crown a game as the best in their category and we do not take that lightly! — Iceyyy
In the spirit of web3 and aligned to our ethos — by GAM3RS for GAM3RS — we designed a comprehensive 3 Stage Voting Process to deliver a fairly balanced consensus among the web3 gaming community!
This is a big undertaking and we worked very hard on it. We want to be as transparent with the community as possible, so we’ll be detailing our process here.
Let’s dive in!
Stage I: Choosing the Official Nominees
The GAM3RS’ CHOICE AWARDS 2022 boasts a total of 18 award categories, giving each web3 game/ studio/ blockchain/ creator a chance to shine.
For the Voting Process, we assembled 43 of the best and brightest minds in web3 gaming to join our Official Voting Panel. These are highly respected gamers, content creators, analysts, researchers, and builders in web3 gaming that we are honored to have!
It is important to note, that 1 award category — the Most Engaged Community — is 100% voted for by the public. For the remaining 17 award categories, the Official Nominees are chosen through ballot nominations.
Each panelist received a ballot with 85 slots, 5 per category across 17 categories. There was no limitation to which games they could nominate. However, each panelist could only nominate each game once per category and all nominations are counted equally.
Over 400 web3 games/ studios/ blockchains/ creators were considered by the Voting Panel for nomination and only the top 5 per award category made the cut to become an Official Nominee.
In the case that a panelist has had a conflict of interest with a nomination, we disqualified the affected nomination.
Fun fact: We tallied over 3,000 submissions from the Voting Panel to get the top 5 Official Nominees. That’s wild!
In the spirit of web3 and transparency, we will be releasing the actual ballot submissions (voter info redacted) in a timely manner after the conclusion of the event!
We want everyone to have access to the raw data and in future events, we hope to host the voting on chain so that it is immutable.
Stage II: The Voting Panel Casts their Vote (90% Voting Power)
In the second stage, the Voting Panel receives their official Voting Ballot. The 43 panelists then cast their votes by ranking the 5 Official Nominees in each award category from 1 to 5:
1st Rank = 5 points
2nd Rank = 4 points
3rd Rank = 3 points
4th Rank = 2 points
5th Rank = 1 point
The points are tallied to get the cumulative score for each Official Nominee, which counts for 90% of voting power.
Stage III: The Public Vote (10% Voting Power)
10% of the voting power is in the hands of the public. Once the Official Nominees are announced, you can cast your vote on our website to become a part of the GAM3RS’ CHOICE AWARDS. This is your chance to participate and help your favorite games win!

Why go for a Blended Vote?
The GAM3RS’ CHOICE AWARDS are by gamers, for gamers and our blended Voting Process ensures that gamers have a 10% say in the final results!
This is also a nod to the web3 ethos where everybody has a say and nobody is excluded. We want to include the values of democratization and decentralization in our process.
Modeled after The Game Awards, we believe that a blended vote is the best way to choose our winners.

The Voting Criteria
While we gave our Voting Panel a lot of autonomy in their choices, here’s some of the criteria we provided as suggestions to guide their decisions:
- Entertainment Factor — How fun is the gaming experience?
- Availability — How easily accessible is it?
- Playability — How is the quality of the gameplay? How playable is the game?
- Development Stage — What stage of development the game is in? (Alpha/Beta, Live or Published)
- Impact — What kind of an impact did the game have on the Web3 gaming space?
- Overall — Everything from the graphics and storyline to originality, community engagement, innovation, and more. What’s your overall impression of the game?
How We Ensure Transparency and Fairness
As mentioned before, we will reveal the voting process in its original raw form. The results of Stage 1, 2 and 3 along with the balloting spreadsheets will be available to the public after the award show.
Room For Improvement
While we did our absolute best to design a fair and comprehensive process while under tight deadlines, we are sure there is room for improvement. We welcome your feedback and also ask for a bit of leniency as this is our first event of what we hope to become many!
