1. Red Fort complex, a must-see icon in Delhi
We took a tuk tuk not knowing if we would arrive alive or without crashing into a cow, car, motorbike, bike or other tuk tuk… which left us for our first visit to Delhi: the red fort

What to see in Delhi, the Red Fort
The palace of the ancient Muslim city of Shahjahanabad (as Delhi was known) owes its name to the color of the sandstone with which it was built in the 17th century.
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2007, this magnificent piece of architecture was designed by the same Mongol Emperor who designed the Taj Mahal.

Its interior was like an oasis of calm, for as we walked through its gardens and beautiful buildings, we felt oblivious to the chaos we had just witnessed in the surrounding streets.

2. Chandni Chowk, the most chaotic neighborhood in Delhi
We left the Red Fort in Delhi and made a quick stop at Mc Donald’s for a bite to eat. Our surprise was that everything was spicy! ! !
We walk the streets of Chandni Chowk, a huge bazaar where you can buy almost anything and where you have to put your bargaining skills to the test.
The further we went into the bazaar, the more chaos there was in the air. If you looked up at the sky you could see a tangle of power cables which was scary…
Chani Chowk
Channi Chowk, Delhi
Each quarter of Chandni Chowk has its specialty. There is an area that only sells books, another where you will find colorful saris, another dedicated to selling nuts and spices… All full of carts with fruit (which seems to be quite old) and food stalls.
