Dear weBloc supporters,
weBloc team admits that it has failed to fully deliver what has been going on with the weBloc project this year to the global community. While the team has been making its utmost efforts throughout the year to introduce blockchain-based services that can be used in the real world and enrich the ICON’s ecosystem, the team should have given more detailed introduction of weBloc’s activities. This post will explain how weBloc has been doing in 2019.
- Main P-Rep
weBloc has earned 3.3% of total ICX issued in the market and ranked at 7th among the entire P-Rep candidates, elected as one of the main P-Reps. weBloc team seems to gain trust from the ICONists as it has been introducing various services and generating huge amount of transactions on the ICON’s mainnet.
2. Listed on VELIC
To be honest, it is hard to tell about the price of WOK tokens. weBloc team is not a Ponzi nor a scam attracting innocent crypto investors. But the most great thing about being listed on a crypto exchange is that the team can see the supporters’ feedback right away when the team launched new services. It is true that still the amount of market circulation is very small and easily affected by the demand and supply of WOK tokens but still it is great to see a progress. Anyone who wanted to have WOK tokens must either use weBloc services or have ICX as VELIC is the only exchange supports the ICX pair and weBloc chose to be on VELIC for that reason.
3. PAYWOK
PAYWOK is a reward-based advertising application service providing CPI, CPA, and other types of advertisements in the form of AD offer wall. This is originated from WECON, the PoC of weBloc project, realizing a transparent and abusing-free advertising environment. In the conventional advertising ecosystem, all participants are incentivized to maximize the costs in the process of launching advertisements, charging more on the advertisers and giving less value to the users. There are approximately 5 to 6 steps from advertisers to users when ads are launched and the players in each step take about 10% to 15% as fee. PAYWOK gets rid of all the process and connects users with advertisers, giving more values to the participants in the ecosystem. Unfortunately, PAYWOK supports the Korean market only at the moment. weBloc team will work hard to expand it to the global market.
4. BLOCK INSIGHT
There’s massive needs for well-curated blockchain news around the world in spite of the current long-term bear market. weBloc has been partnered with BLOCK INSIGHT as part of weBloc ecosystem. All actions including clicks, screen time, leave comments, and so on are calculated by its algorithm and the users will receive INX tokens swappable to WOK tokens and the transactions are also being recorded on ICON’s mainnet. BLOCK INSIGHT application has been partnered with UPbit, the biggest crypto exchange in Korea, using the API to show the prices of coins and tokens users are interested in. It recently has released its global version, so at the moment it would be the first weBloc’s application service that global users can experience at the moment.

5. JUBJUB
JUBJUB is a location-based application service finding you great cafes around you. By installing and launching the app on your smart phone, you can try JUBJUB, which means “picking up” in Korean language, and see how many people did JUBJUB at certain cafes as all actions including picking up - or JUBJUB - WOK tokens, leaving comments about the cafes, and seeding(supporting) the cafes by donating WOK tokens to the cafes users liked. This has a great potential to be the most transparent review application while working as highly cost-efficient advertising platform where the results are 100% traceable. This is one way of realizing the vision of weBloc project — connecting advertisers with users directly and getting rid of unnecessary middlemen costs.
I’ve seen a user who has left a comment and donated 1 WOK token — which can’t be changed or deleted as all the actions on JUBJUB are recorded on the ICON’s smart contract — as a means to express his/her complaint. This would lead to incentivizing advertisers to provide better services and products so that they can earn great feedback in an honest way rather than hiring marketing agencies to fabricate the comments on review section.
JUBJUB had initiated to be a tool for tourists visiting Jeju Island, which is the biggest tourism site in South Korea. As weBloc Asia Corporation has been established in Jeju Island having a great relationship with the municipal government, it was designed to boost the local economy by providing the most cost-efficient advertising tool for niche market businesses and local business owners. Now, the coverage has expanded to the Seoul City, the capital city of South Korea, which has been well known for the huge number of cafes and coffee lovers.
weBloc team is definitely planning to enlarge the coverage areas of JUBJUB service so that users from any country can find their NEW favorite cafes in the cities where JUBJUB is operating.
Keyword in 2020 : Survival
Over the last 2 years, the crypto market in general has been worse while the business environments have been tougher. But weBloc team believes that relentless efforts and go forward mindset would be the last thing we should never lose.
