Brainstorming should begin the moment an idea presents itself as interesting. Grab a notebook, a pen, and start writing. The type of notebook doesn’t matter, but I prefer Field Notes. Their small size means I can take them everywhere I go and devote one to a single idea. Label each notebook (even if the name doesn’t stick) and date it.
