KCIT, a Fox-affiliated TV service, was established in October 1982, which operates under the ownership of Mission Broadcasting; however, it is licensed to Amarillo. Nexstar Media group operates the network along with its sibling KCPN-LP (a MyNetworkTV affiliate channel) through joint sales and shared services agreement. A fox-linked TV station shares the studios with KAMR-TV and KCPN in downtown Amarillo. Meanwhile, the transmitters of KAMR and KCIT are installed at the rural unincorporated Potter Country on Dumus Drive and Reclamation Plant Road. Suddenlink airs this service on channel 8 and channel 13, respectively, in Amarillo and other areas.
The channel uses a slogan “First Fox Local”.

History:
KCIT was established in October 1982 as KJTV, and it was the fourth commercial TV service in the Amarillo market without satellites; the first three were KGNC, KAMR, and KFDA. However, it was the first commercial UHF channel to enter in Amarillo region.
Ray Moran was the original owner of the network, and he possessed the construction permit of the network in March 1981. The station aired locally-produced sitcoms, dramas, featured films, westerns, business news (broadcast by Financial News Network), and cartoons. In December 1984, KCIT was sold to Wilson under the company name Ralph C. Wilson Industries Inc; he invested heavily in the network to build a modern broadcasting facility and changed the calls to KCIT, which are operational till now. The TV service depended heavily on businesses and commercials established in Amarillo.
KCIT carries a lot of exciting programs, including Last Man Standing, The People’s Court, Judge Mathis, Divorce Court, and Mike & Molly. It also airs locally produced news transmission of 3.5 hours including half-hour on Saturday and Sunday.
