5 Cliché Wedding Trends That Need To Go!
The year 2016 was full of beautiful weddings. Trends that became popular were good maybe until 2016, but then it’s time we bid them goodbye for the upcoming wedding season of 2017. The aesthetic of your wedding should be distinctive and worthy of your special day. We cover for you stuff that has been overused, will soon look outdated and are literally quite ready to retire. So brides and grooms to be — keep in mind that trends are not forced and you can be your creative self to come up with something new and wacky!
1) The Red and Maroon Lehengas
The colour red has reigned supreme for generations together. Yes, the look is classic and beautiful, but its 2017 and it would be beautiful to see brides adorn colours to liven things up. For instance, try blues, yellows, oranges, etc. The idea is to have something that hasn’t been seen before and is a real reflection of your persona and individuality.

2) Chokers
Reviving the 90’s seemed to be quite the trend in 2016. Don’t you think a choker for long durations can prove to be uncomfortable? How about focusing more on maang tikkas, jhumars, or the nath (nose pin)? Pinterest is full of some amazing designs you could opt for. In fact, floral jewellery too could be quite a thing to add to your oomph factor!

3) Genda phools (Marigold) all over
Genda phools are so Indian and oh so traditional, but hey haven’t we gone overboard with them? Stop getting everything covered in them. You could opt for mogras or jasmines — they look classic and are quite appealing! A refreshing change if we may add!

4) Destination weddings to Goa and Rajasthan
Think of a destination wedding and everybody has just two names that pop up Goa and Rajasthan. Are we as the seventh largest country in the world running out of places to be married in? Yes, the beaches are inviting, pretty, and accessible, but then there is so much more to explore. Try something new- an unexplored territory, perhaps and be the trendsetter yourself. It’s all about the road less travelled we say.

5) Party props
The last we heard it was a wedding we were invited to then why did we end up with party props? Seriously guys, we can take a break from party props of sunglasses, shiny hats, cliché quotes et all. Let us give it a wedding theme or use monograms instead and not make it a clubbing zone or a teenage party. Please, pretty please?

Yes, it is another year down with a list of trends that we would happily say goodbye to. Say big hello to a wedding that is trendsetting, simple, beautiful, and speaks about you. Say hello to a wedding that would be timeless and elegant, appealing and comfortable, classic and yet stunning in many years to come!
