Should you waste your time on anything that you can’t grow in to be considered world class?
Let’s say I love playing video games. To the point where I quit my job and start trying to play competitively. Don’t worry, this is hypothetical. I practice and practice and get better, but never cross the hump of being in the top 10%. No matter how many hours I put in or how hard I try, I can’t keep up.
Do you keep pressing on, or do you quit? How early can you make that determination?
Are you born to be something? Or someone? Or do you only become that something after deciding “I want to be a blogger/photographer/financial advisor/whatever” and then putting in the required 10,000 hours to become a master?
Or am I aiming too high? I want to be world class at something, but is that achievable?
