You Don’t Know What You’re Doing

A Poem

by Andrew Neel on Unsplash

You don’t know what you’re doing,

Don’t let life pass you by,

You want to be a writer, why?

You don’t know what you’re doing!

Ideas swirl around your brain,

You write them down again and again,

Now staring at a blank white screen,

You don’t know what you’re doing!

Walk away, refresh your mind,

Your head is hurting, it’s time to unwind,

Return to write, good vibes are brewing,

You don’t know what you’re doing!

Give it up now it’s time to stop,

Pursue a new dream, close the laptop,

Get a real job, start interviewing,

You don’t know what you’re doing!

I’ll do what I want, practice makes perfect,

I’ll learn as I go, advancing through each new project,

Maybe it’s true, I don’t know what I’m doing,

But I shall never stop, each day I’ll keep improving!

I hope you enjoyed this poem, thanks for taking the time to read it, much appreciated. I aim to improve my writing with each article so I welcome any tips or advice.

Thank you.
