Yeah, you got me! :-)
It is partly due to fitness reasons, I like to eat a higher protein diet than most, it helps feed my muscles I like to build lifting weights!
I also choose to eat better quality food not just for myself, but for the environment too.
I made the conscious decision a few years ago to eat better quality food that is either fair trade/organic/locally sourced even if it cost more, simply because I believe it helps the environment as well as me.
I often have discussions with friends and family about my food choices and when I tell them to that I don’t just pay for better quality food because I want it for myself, but that I do it because I’m conscious of how my food impacts the world around me — I generally get blank stares! :-(
