5 Precautions to stop the spread of Coronaviruses in Comics

Did a short infocomic on how to keep yourself safe from coronaviruses.

Besides the novel coronavirus, MERS, SARS, and some strains of the common cold, seasonal flu also belong to the family of Coronaviruses.

These same methods can be used to prevent similar contagious respiratory diseases. I’ve cited my references for the information in the last page of the comic, and provided links at the end of the article.

*note: I have updated the page that said “Viruses can last for 24 hours on objects, and the only effective way to get rid of them is to wash them off with soap”, with “Viruses can last for quite a few hours on objects, and the only effective way to get rid of them is to wash them off with soap, bleach, or alcohol.” to be more medically correct.

Can I translate it to my own language?

I’ve started to release versions of the colored comic without text, for genuine translators who want to translate them into their native tongue. I’m updating this post on facebook on the list of languages that volunteers have offered to translate.

Currently these are the list of languages volunteers are working on now -

1. Simplified Chinese
2. Traditional chinese
3. Cantonese
4. Vietnamese
5. Tagalog
6. Cebuano
7. Laotian
8. Bahasa Indonesian
9. Spanish

The volunteers include members of the general public, staff from Tarlac City Information Office, UNICEF Indonesia, Singapore Intercultural Schools, and Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico in the United States.

If you’re interested to translate, please DM me your email address, and the language you want to translate it into, so I can send you the images.
