A museum that actually IS thoroughly modern, set in the former Bankside Power Station,

the Tate combines cavernous, flexible, multi-purpose public spaces welcoming for performance and tech pieces, interactive and participatory installations and gatherings of all ages . . .

with coherent gallery spaces that don’t compete with the building . . . and a mind boggling international collection of Modern art, all of which is free, subsidized by very high fees on special exhibitions, like Anne Albers, on which we passed @ 30–50 pounds each!

It’s one of those places that abounds with challenges and expands on the notion of “what is art and what is art made of?” An extremely refreshing, invigorating and forward looking place — very London to so powerfully present the Modern along side the ever present architecture, treasure troves and memorials of the past.

Just a couple of Modern challenges . . .

Today we are off to the Victoria and Albert for a bit of a change of pace!

Cheers from London!
