Why Are Wild Turkeys So Prevalent in the Bay Area?
Keith A. Spencer

My folks moved from Dry Oak Court in THE VILLAS OF ALMADEN many years ago now, but the wild turkeys (and deer and foxes and more) that were denizens in that beautiful division — which backs against green-belt in the southernmost part of San Jose — were always a fun sight, especially this time of year. Turkeys were frequently seen in trees and on roads, but just as frequently on porches and decks, making human residents more than a bit ambivalent about their presence with their noise and potential for ‘violence’ and drippy, biological, um…contributions!
