Thank you for this much needed wake up call. I think at times I’ve been the dewy-eyed, naive American who believes I can solve other people’s problems. I appreciate you shedding light on the complexity of ongoing, systemic problems anywhere. After having several experiences trying ‘help’ people, I’ve learned any true solution requires empowerment and people owning it themselves. Solutions need to come from within.
