Poweramp 3.0 is the most significant mobile music achievement since Sony invented the Walkman. We have worked over nine years to create the only mobile music player that’s sound quality mimics the same audio quality of a recording studio, while on your phone. Today with Poweramp 3.0 now available for download, we’ve achieved that and Poweramp is the most powerful mobile music player in the world.

Now, with 3.0, we didn’t only work on improving our already great audio quality, we brought in other major changes to improve the experience for our users. Below you can see a summarized version of all the new features being added to Poweramp with our latest releases. Regardless, we hope you’re as excited for the future of quality music as we are, and that your readers get the latest news about Poweramp.
Thank you,

Key Features in 3.0

  • Support for almost 20 different music file format (why? Because MP3 is trash and if you know you know): mp3, mp4/m4a/alac/aac, ogg, wma, flac, wav, ape, wv, tta, mpc, aiff, opus, dsd (dff/dsf), mka, tak, flv
  • New Audio Engines: the new Audio Engine comes with Float32 internal sample format, Float64 DSP processing, up to 384khz sampling rates, selectable swr/sox resampler, multiple dither options, various per-output settings, and much more. Non-tech summary: Poweramp 3.0’s audio engine is powerful.
  • Google Services Support: Poweramp now supports Google Android Auto, Google Assistant, and Google Chromecast. We know we’re late, but at least we made it to the party.
  • OH MY Visualizations (Tripping Mode): That’s right, we finally have great visualization functions with support for MilkDrop.
  • Android 5.0 minimum (Sorry old Android, but you’re dead to us): To be able to make the best and most powerful version of Poweramp, we had to cut some people off, so we’re sorry but Poweramp 3.0 says goodbye to Android 3.0 and other non 5.0+ versions.
  • And much more!

Q&A

How do you feel about streaming music and what are you doing about it?

We are very aware of the growing relevance of streaming music, and while we would love to say we have plans to work with a service provider sometime soon, we don’t. Poweramp’s main focus is music quality, and experiencing quality music isn’t possible with almost all the music streaming services.

Do you feel like you’re missing out on millions of users by not including streaming functions

Yes and no; Yes, because millions of our “western” customers love streaming services like Spotify, so we are sad that, as of now, we cannot integrate with a service to provide them Poweramp’s features while streaming. No, because Poweramp is the vinyl of music player, while digit is great, it’s crap compared to vinyl and people know that. So, we will always be here when people that have a taste for quality music want to listen to their pre-loaded music on their phones. Plus, due to its monthly price music streaming isn’t as popular as people think.

How many years has Poweramp been available and whats the future of Poweramp look like?

Poweramp has been providing quality music to people since 2010, and we are exciting to be coming into our 10th year of service soon. Future wise, we are always focused on providing our users with the features and experience they’re looking for, so that’s what we will keep doing. We have a lot more under development that are secret for now, but they’ll be announced when the time is right.

What’s something fun about Poweramp?

The users; We are willing to beat that Poweramp has the best user base of any mobile app in the world. We have our own community of dedicated music lovers on our forum, and they’re always helping each other out as well and helping us improve the user experience. So we believe, Poweramp is forever because our users make it that way.

When will Poweramp be released for iPhone

Hahaha, No comment.
