Is your company adding value or are you pretending and trying to make a name for yourself?

Why do I ask this question?

Well, it is 2019 and the world we live in is becoming more and more advanced each day that passes. If you look at all the new innovations, digital platforms, technologies, cryptocurrencies, and the whole internet of things, you’ll soon realize that everything has one thing in common: users.

If users are really top of mind for everything you do in our company, shouldn’t that mean that you make sure that all of your efforts are to drive better engagement, better service, better products, and more value to your users and customers? …

Imagine.

Imagining what customers are going through on a day to day basis will help us understand what they go through and identify any issues that need to be fixed.

For this article, let’s imagine…

Imagine if you were the customer and you felt like you were being tossed around the place.

Imagine if you were standing there requesting for service or a product but the employee was just staring at you like you were a corpse.

Imagine if you were repeating yourself, trying to be as calm as possible, but their reaction to you was — anger.

Imagine if you weren’t accommodated by the service team because they have a ‘rule’ (wherein their interpretation is totally off) that they strictly follow. …

I’m sitting here in my office thinking of how I can help a friend of mine find a new mentee. So I decided to put this together to understand why his mentorship is about to come to an end.

There are times in every mentorship program where one of the two (mentor or mentee) feel that it isn’t working out. And, neither one of them know what to do. Eventually, the program comes to an end, leaving both of them wondering what went wrong.

Now, I’m going to give some insight as to why mentorships fall apart. How to keep it from falling apart? …

Over the years, several people have told me that they don’t really update their Social Media pages/profiles for different reasons, the most common being — they want to stay private or they don’t have time.

(This will be focusing on business/consultant/service pages, not personal profiles.)

Two things to understand.

  1. Social Media is powerful — if you still don’t believe that social media is powerful, you’re probably on a different universe. It’s quite obvious if you’d ask me. Not to be arrogant but it is one of the most powerful mediums, in this day and age.
  2. Social Media is simple — this may sound ridiculous but it’s true. Social media is really simple, it is very easy to use — especially to your benefit. Don’t get overwhelmed by what all the ‘digital marketers’ say. They make it sound ‘complicated’ so that you’ll hire them. Believe me, I learned everything by myself. …

Mentorship. The first time I actually thought about this was when a friend told me that having a mentor would be beneficial and it would help me grow.

To be honest, I never really thought about having a mentor. I’ve thought about being a mentor, if someone approached me, but having one was never top of mind.

This article is aimed at pointing out a few of the benefits, based on my experience.

I began my research and looked through my current contacts to see if I had anyone would fit the criteria of being my mentor. I found one person who, I thought, would be a great mentor. Of course, I didn’t want to just message him and say “Hey, can you be my mentor?” so I started by just messaging regularly to talk about different things in our field of work. …

To be very, very honest, I am getting tired of seeing so-called digital marketing ‘experts’ copy everything that Rand Fishkin or Neil Patel write about!

For some reason, whatever it is, these ‘experts’ think that it’s okay to rewrite their articles. Now, don’t get me wrong, writing about the same topic is okay. But, if you really take a look at the rewritten articles, it’s almost word for word.

But….what’s the issue? Why do these guys do this, why? For money? …

To be honest, there are a ton of articles these days on ‘how to produce the best content’, ‘the definitive guide….’, and a bunch of stuff that really doesn’t answer the simple question “What content really matters to a customer?”.

Believe me, when I say this, posting daily doesn’t always bring in the best results. Quality over quantity is always the route to go. Don’t just do what these so-called experts tell you to do. Strategies that were successful for other businesses won’t necessarily work for yours.

A review of your business model, product, mission, goals, and other items will be the basis of a perfectly-crafted digital strategy. The digital strategy of Heineken won’t necessarily work for Krispy Kreme or Coca-Cola. …

I recently conducted a test on how many people really search for tips on increasing organic website traffic. Yes, you can easily go to Google Keyword Planner and see how many average monthly searches there are but I wanted to see it first hand, and I did!

Google constantly tweaks its search algorithms but there are some basic foundations that you need to make sure you have in place. Once you have these in place you will see an increase in your organic search traffic.

Note: These tips do not guarantee a page one rank for your keywords, they do guarantee an increase in traffic though. …

1. Make your Website Content Shareable

If you or your business runs a blog, make sure others can share it.

Nowadays, if people like what they see online, then share it with others. This can be done with the click of a button. If you don’t have this set up on your site yet, you can easily add a plugin to do the job.

The good thing is that there are many free share button plugins that can easily be installed on your website. Some of the popular ones are AddToAny, AddThis, and SimpleShareButtons.

When you install plugins like these, be sure to include the top social media sites in the buttons to be seen. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest are 4 very popular social media sites that users share regularly. …
