Montebello Dental Team Explains Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth removal is practically a rite of passage these days. While there are some emerging adults who do not end up with impacted wisdom teeth, getting impacted wisdom teeth is so common that getting wisdom teeth removed is almost expected for very young people. Wisdom teeth tend to appear in patients between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five, although there are going to be outliers. Getting wisdom teeth removed is a common experience among college students and recent college graduates.

While most wisdom teeth need to get removed because they become impacted, they can present other problems as well:

- The wisdom teeth are coming in at the wrong angle, and they’re interfering with a person’s bite or their other teeth.

- People who have cavities or gum disease might have a hard time getting to their wisdom teeth, which is going to cause a lot of long-term problems.
