Just a minor fact check — Steve Jobs was a huge success at Apple before 1984 with the Apple II being what made Apple a huge company. I would contend Steve Jobs took many big risks he just took them through out his career and they paid off several times. Here’s a quote by Jobs:
We don’t get a chance to do that many things, and every one should be really excellent. Because this is our life. Life is brief, and then you die, you know? And we’ve all chosen to do this with our lives. So it better be damn good. It better be worth it.
While no one is an overnight success they did overnight decide to go all in. Jobs didn’t do anything while keeping a second job in case things didn’t work out, unless you count when he was running Pixar and Apple.
