WFAE’s FAQ City Recognized in Hearken’s Annual Champions of Curiosity Awards

Dec 11, 2018 · 1 min read

Over the last nearly two years, WFAE has made a commitment to deep community listening and engagement. One way we do this is through FAQ City, our community-powered podcast reported by Nick de la Canal and facilitated by Hearken, a software platform that allows the community to submit and vote on questions they want our newsroom to answer.

This year, a panel of outside judges chose two of our episodes for recognition in the annual Champions of Curiosity contest:

Best investigative story prompted by a question

Winner: WFAE, “FAQ City: What Is The 287g Program? And Other Questions Answered”

Best participation by question-asker

Honorable Mention: Margaret Peeples, WFAE, FAQ City: Why Did CMPD Destroy 1,000 Sexual Assault Kits?

Listen to our episodes as well as to some of the amazing work done by newsrooms across the country.
