You weren’t bad at maths — you just weren’t looking at it the right way
Junaid Mubeen

I’ve always been terrible at math, but I love numbers. There is a fundamental structure to numbers that is so basic; kind of like the way certain colors on a painter’s palate are a painter’s best friend. Math has many languages of its own (depending on algorithms) and I love all languages because it is so expressively beautiful. Numbers are beautiful, too.

I am reminded of the famous Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. He had no formal education, but to him math was like god talking to him. How beautiful is that? He wrote all these formulas that mystified mathematicians around the world.

I never realized that math could be taught differently and it is such a shame that more educators aren’t doing more to change the way it’s taught. I hope math will start being taught differently at the primary education level.
