Very cool framing on the whole conversation. I hadn’t really thought of it this way before, paying to be part of the cultural conversation, but that’s exactly what it is. I watch when I watch because I want to be part of the social media conversation and talk about what I’m seeing with everyone else. And for me as a huge sports fan and sports writer, I’m paying for that as well. And for tickets to games occasionally too. It all adds up, and like you I sometimes wonder about whether it’s too much, but I do feel it’s worth it. My cable and Internet bill is around 160 a month, and I feel that is outrageous from Comcast but I have a large cable package and DVR services. You can actually tweet at them and take care a lot of things on Twitter or on chat now without having to call too, so that makes it worth it. Thanks for sharing!
