Finally Here…
I am finally in my room at Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras.
My day began yesterday with waking up on time. (Can I get an amen!) I’m not a morning person, and I only slept 4 hours so this is huge for me. I was able to make it to the airport in time to have Chik Fil A as my last meal in the U.S.
I have to be honest and admit that I was a little worried about navigating airports alone. I have travelled a lot, but never alone. Let’s just say I put my big girl panties on and then some. Logistics of yesterday went as smoothly as they possibly could. Delta has been cancelling flights due to a power outages for the past few days, but mine wasn’t delayed! I bought a coach ticket for the overbooked plane ride. The plane was so crowded, and just as I got settled in my seat in the back of the plane, a flight attendant told me to get up because he had a better seat for me. He walked me up to the front of the plane where there was a mimosa waiting for me in the comfort plus section!
Another great thing happened when I found my driver and he told there would be 3 other Americans riding with us…meaning I could split the cost of the ride. An $80 ride turned into a $20, again logistical perfection. So rest easy, I made it in great shape, and I’m so thankful that it wasn’t a difficult process to get here. Thanks for your prayers and support!
